Apparel Alterations 101

2 hour class.

• How to hem pants and sleeves 

• How to adjust darts

• Introductory level techniques for adjusting fit of clothing 

• How to sew a button

Giulia is a fashion designer and product developer with over 15 years of industry experience. A graduate of POLIMODA in Florence, she has worked with renowned fashion houses including Alexander McQueen and Hackett London, specializing in menswear, womenswear, knitwear, tailoring, and garment construction. She brings extensive hands-on experience in design, product development, patternmaking, sewing, and fashion illustration to her teaching.

1. Students should bring 2 - 3 clothing items that need alterations. (Pants, skirts, dresses, etc.)

2. Sewing machines and tools are included, however if you wish to bring your own you can.

Age 16+

Students will bring 2-3 items of clothing that need alterations including hemming, adjustment to darts, or other minor alterations. The instructor will guide students through exactly how to alter their clothing.

Each class has a maximum of 6 students. 

The class will start promptly at the designated time. Please arrive 5 minutes early for check-in.

Intro to Sewing or Sewing Machine Basics or Sewing 101 Bootcamp or equivalent sewing experience
